Pihu is 12. Long before she could read on her own, bedtime meant a stack of picture books and one more chapter, please. Somewhere between the fairy tales and the mysteries, reading stopped being something she was asked to do and became the thing she looked forward to all day.
By the time she was in middle school, her shelf had outgrown her room. Adventures, fantasy worlds, detective stories, biographies of people she wanted to be like — every finished book earned its place, and every one of them had a friend she wanted to hand it to next.
That's exactly how Pihu's Library started. Instead of letting the books she loved sit and collect dust, she decided to lend them out — properly, with codes on every copy, fair rent, and real care for how each book comes back. What began as one girl's reading habit is now a small, growing library built entirely from books she has actually read and loved.
Her hope is simple: that a kid who thinks reading isn't for them picks up one book from here, stays up too late finishing it, and comes back for the next one. Reading grew her — she'd like it to grow you too.
Every title on the shelf is a book Pihu has read herself.
Neighbours contribute books and earn 40% of the rent for a year.
